Well…after four years…it had to be done! I started noticing some spots on in my view finder and then they started appearing on my photos so I knew they had made their way to my sensor. I had a couple of options regarding the cleaning of said sensor.
#1-Send it in to Nikon. $$$
#2-Take it in to Shewmakers. $$
#3-Do it myself. $
It was a hard choice because if you send it in, they will guarentee the work but it is expensive. If you take it in, they wont guarantee the work, but it usually comes out fine, and if you do it yourself, you could mess up and that is usually a guarantee (unless you know what you are doing!)
So I chose option 2, take it into Shewmakers. One, because I would rather trust a professional and two…I really wanted to see their store and look at all the cool stuff to buy!! The staff was super friendly and it only took about an hour for it to be cleaned. Overall, it was a great experience.
Next time, I am planning on buying cleaning equipment and doing it myself…after I learn how to of course!!
Cleaning kits at Shewmakers are about $19.99
