As a photographer, anytime you snap a picture, you own the copyrights. You can protect yourself one step further by registering your works with the U.S. Copyright Office. Watermarks on photos also help as well as initials or the copyright symbol on a picture, but keep in mind they CAN be taken off. As for website or blogs, make sure to add a disclaimer that states all of the information on your site is YOURS and it came FROM YOU. If you borrowed blogs, articles or statements from another website…make sure you credit your source or include a link that goes directly to their site. Never copy and paste information, articles, words, statements OR feelings from other people. This can lead to big problems. Websites like COPYSCAPE can seek and find copy-cat websites and blogs.
