So I’ve recently seen the famous heart shadow, cast by a ring (usually a man’s wedding ring) in a book (usually a bible) and I wanted to find a tutorial or tips on how to do it. Nada. Nothing. The only thing I read was that you have to photograph the ring in a book and then use photoshop to do the heart?!? That didn’t sound like any fun…SO…I just decided to try it myself! This is just my first try so I’ll update later! Please let me know if you have any tips/ideas/sites to check out! Thanks!

"Randi, you have to think outside the lens!"
That's what one of my friends told me when I asked them to critique a picture of mine. I was used to just taking "snap-shots" and not focusing on the story I wanted to tell. That advice made me stop and think about what I wanted to capture as a photographer. And now, here I am, trying to improve my skills day by day.
Hopefully my blog will help others out there like me who are on their photographic journey! Thanks for looking and I hope you are inspired to take the best photos you can!
Peace, Love and Pictures!

I TRIED EXPERIMENTING WITH IT IN NATURAL LIGHT. IT WORKS PRETTY WELL BUT MY SHADOW WAS KIND OF LIGHT. YOU CAN CHECK IT OUT AT KALAIDECAM.WEEBLY.COM
you could use a bright flashlight ( casts white light ) ..
i used a flashlight in mine which casts white light and it was amazing.. and the higher you put the flash light, the shorter the heart shadow and if its closer, the longer the shadow is.
